January 24, 2018

The tally of labor union endorsements for U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-IL) grew as the National Weather Service Employees Organization and Insulators Local 17 both announced their support for the Third District Congressman’s reelection campaign.

“Just in the past year, Dan Lipinski is responsible for saving over 100 jobs of weather service employees who save lives with their forecasts,” said Daniel Sobien, National President of the National Weather Service Employees Organization (NWSEO). Sobien praised Lipinski’s efforts on the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee to save jobs at the Chicago Forecast Office in Romeoville and restore positions at the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center that were cut by President Trump.

Lipinski’s reelection effort was also bolstered with support from Insulators Local 17. “We greatly appreciate your strong support for the vital contributions of mechanical insulation,” Business Manager Bill Mangin said. “You understand us, support us, and our members are pleased to support you.”

Lipinski proudly carries the mantle as the labor-endorsed Congressman for the Third District. Within the past three weeks, he has earned reelection campaign support from five labor organizations, including the Illinois AFL-CIO.

“You are a champion for working families,” said Sobien, of NWSEO. “We have endorsed you so that you can continue to fight for the creation of high quality jobs, better wages, and trade agreements that benefit American workers.”

“My fight is for the working men and women of the Third District,” Lipinski said. “The continued endorsements I’m receiving from labor union organizations reflect my strong labor voting record, advocacy, and accomplishments for the American worker.”
