Re-elect Dan Lipinski Congressman

56 WOMEN ELECTED OFFICIALS FROM THIRD DISTRICT COMMUNITIES ENDORSE REP. LIPINSKI FOR REELECTION

February 14, 2018

Congressman Dan Lipinski (D-03) today announced endorsements from 56 women elected officials representing 26 Third District communities.

“From co-sponsoring the Paycheck Fairness Act to stop the gender pay disparity to working to reauthorize and fully fund the Violence Against Women Act, Congressman Lipinski listens to his constituents and delivers on issues that matter to women,” said Jane Quinlan, Oak Lawn Village Clerk.

Lockport Alderwoman Joanne Bartelsen stated, “We are grateful to Congressman Lipinski for being a tireless advocate for women’s issues and for fighting for the middle class.”

“I’m endorsing Dan Lipinski because he has fought to make our communities safer, our environment cleaner, and our schools better,” added Bridgeview Trustee Patricia Higginson.

Lipinski’s legislative accomplishments also include authoring legislation - signed into law - that requires the Defense Department to deploy specially-trained sexual assault nurses with all military deployments to assure that sexual assault survivors receive necessary support and that perpetrators are prosecuted. In addition, the Congressman is a co-sponsor of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, legislation that requires employers to provide proper accommodations for pregnant workers.

“I am honored by the overwhelming support of these leaders who I have worked with to make our communities better,” Lipinski said. “I will continue to listen carefully to my constituents and work to make progress on issues of importance to women.”

In endorsing Lipinski, these elected officials also cited the Congressman’s care for his constituents, accessibility, success leveraging resources and support for local communities, and constituent services.
