Register to Vote

To register to vote, you must:

  • be a U.S. citizen, and
  • be born on or before Nov. 3. 2002, and
  • live in your precinct at least 30 days before the election, and
  • not claim the right to vote elsewhere; and
  • not be in prison/jail serving time for a conviction. (Note: Ex-convicts who have been released from prison/jail and who meet all other requirements listed above are eligible to register and vote in Illinois. Ex-convicts who have been released are on parole/probation ARE eligible to register and vote in Illinois.)

Register to Vote

To register to vote, you must be:

  1. A U.S. citizen
  2. At least 18 years old by the general election
  3. A resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day

You also must display two pieces of identification. Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address. Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Illinois driver’s license
  • Illinois state ID
  • Employee or student ID
  • Credit card
  • Social security card
  • Birth certificate
  • Utility bill in applicant’s name
  • Mail postmarked to the applicant
  • Valid U.S. passport
  • Public aid ID card
  • Lease or rental contract

In Illinois, you do not declare affiliation with a political party when you register to vote. In primary elections, you must choose to vote a specific political party ballot.

Register to Vote

In order to register to vote, you must meet these qualifications:

  • You must be a United States citizen
  • You must be at least 18 years old on or before the next election (OR for a General Primary, must be 17 and will be 18 by the General Election)
  • You must live in your election precinct at least 30 days before the next election
  • You must not be convicted and in jail
  • You cannot claim the right to vote anywhere else

Register to Vote

A U.S. citizen 18 years of age by the date of the next election (some 17 year olds may vote in the General Primary) and a resident at a current Will County address for 30 days immediately prior to the next election.

Request Mail-in Ballot

Voting by mail is an option for any qualified registered voter in Will County to cast their ballot prior to Election Day. The last day to request a Vote By Mail ballot for the March 17, 2020 General Primary Election is March 12, 2020.
